This studio is located in the most respectable area of Stockholm. Everything inside is very Swedish except for the glossy kitchen, which seems completely impractical. We tell you how to "tame" gloss
This small apartment of 37 square meters is an example of how to work with space. The designers made two levels in the studio: on the first they placed a living room, a kitchen with an exit to the balcony, a bathroom and even found a place for a dressing room, and on the second they placed a mini-bedroom. Nice move: take advantage of the height when there is not enough width.
The decoration in the studio is minimalistic. White walls, natural wood flooring, wide windows not covered with curtains on purpose, cotton textiles and even wooden window frames. But there is one "but" - a black glossy kitchen, which does not fit into the concept of the famous Swedish practicality. But this is only at first glance.
The kitchen and living room occupy the same space in the studio, but at the same time are clearly divided into zones. Shiny, as if "cinematic" facades enlarge the kitchen at times, this property is possessed by all glossy coatings, because they reflect light. And there is really a lot of light here: glass doors leading to the balcony let it in.
Let's not argue, traces and stains are visible on dark furniture, but the gloss is not afraid of moisture, and it is easier to take care of such furniture than matte furniture. The designers solved the problem with traces in a ridiculously simple way by putting handles on the facades. Despite its pretentiousness, due to the warm shades of furniture and wood in the decoration of the studio, gloss gets along well in the general interior.
The living room is bright and comfortable. There is also a window that illuminates and visually enlarges the space, which is important for small areas. The designers have deliberately added dark textiles and a black marble coffee table to the living room interior so that the kitchen and living room are combined.
An overbuilt staircase leads to the bedroom, which also serves as a dressing room. The bedroom is tiny, but comfortable: there was room even for an impromptu bedside table in the form of a niche in the wall. Moreover, for studios, a separate sleeping place is a great luxury.
The bathroom is tiled according to the classic scenario: black on the floor and white on the walls. This play on contrast always increases the space. Interestingly, the shower door allows you to adjust the area of the bathroom. If there is not enough space, the door can be pushed against the wall.
The hallway in the house also appeared thanks to the built-in second level. Here on one side there is a wardrobe for outerwear.
