How to Customize the GIMP Interface

Ever wanted to customize the GIMP interface?  Like combining all 3 panels into 1?  Or maybe make your tool icons larger, or a different color and maybe make your layer previews larger too?  If so, this GIMP tutorial will show you step-by-step how to do all of the above! I don't know about you, but my eyes are not as good as they use to be.  

Which means I like my tool icons large... actually HUGE... which is an actual option!  You'll find out how to change the size via Preferences. Plus, you can also change your layer preview size via preferences too.  

However, it doesn't always work via that option. In that case, you'll want to adjust the layer preview size via the "Configure this tab" next to the layers panel.  From there, select "Preview Size" and choose the option that's best for you.
