38 m2 is enough to have a complete apartment as this apartment in the center of Milan shows

Lack of space in big cities is one of the biggest challenges we face today and the best way to deal with this problem is with a good custom design.

This has been the solution to make the most of the 38 m2 of this apartment in Milan . The architecture studio Lascia la Scia in charge of its design, took advantage of all the space (including the vertical one) so that the owner of this apartment would not miss anything. The end result is a bright home in which the space (surprisingly) breathes because it has a comfortable circulation.

Take advantage of vertical space

One of the keys in the design of the apartment has been the use of the height of the ceiling . Old buildings in city centers usually have, as in this case, high ceilings that can be used to create a mezzanine or mezzanine that, although it does not allow standing on it, is enough to place a bed.

In this case, the wooden mezzanine and access staircase were custom created for this space . Its upper part includes a large bed and in the lower part (perfectly zoned by the lowering of the ceiling) there is a living room.

In addition to the bedroom and living room, the staircase hides and becomes a closet, a small study corner that can be opened or closed, and contains shelves and a large bookcase area.

Finally, the neutral and soft colors (beige and gray) chosen throughout the space help to expand and illuminate the space. The ceramic flooring contrasts with the warmth with the light wood of the lower kitchen cabinets and other details. The transparent chairs in the dining room add brightness and lightness to the space and the white furniture collects and reflects the light from the large windows.
